PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing an amount of applied fertilizer to a raising seedling culture medium without lowering a quality of seedling, in paper cylinder raising seedling of sugar beet.;SOLUTION: This method for reducing an amount of applied fertilizer includes using, in paper cylinders for raising seedling of sugar beet, a raising seedling culture medium which is obtained by mixing ground chaff with raising seedling soil followed by mixing fertilizer therewith. As a result of this, an amount of applied fertilizer can be reduced without lowering a quality of sugar beet seedlings (especially, a raw weight of a root part as the main usage part of sugar beet) than the case of using a culture medium which is obtained by applying a standard amount of applied fertilizer (50.0 kg fertilizer per a culture medium of 60 sugar beet paper cylinders), to raising seedling soil, and the whole raising seedling culture medium can be lightened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
