PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing member which can strengthen the pressing force exerted on a fabric with the fixing member and a member to be fixed, without scratching other fixing members, etc. with the sharp chip of the fixing member, and without increasing a burden on a worker when fixing the member to be fixed.;SOLUTION: The metallic fixing member (a button fastener) 10 for fixing the member to be fixed (a button) 20 on a surface of the fabric 1 is composed of a base 13, a penetration part 14 projecting from the base 13, and a protection member 12 which is made of an elastomer resin and adheres to the sharp chip of the penetration part 14. The fixing work of the button 20 is performed using the button fastener 10 equipped with the protection member 12.
