PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radar apparatus for accurately estimating a speed and the travel direction of a target. PSOLUTION: The radar apparatus for estimating the speed and the travel direction of the target, and predicting a crash includes: a target capturing section for capturing the target; a filter initial value setting section for setting a filter initial value for implementing a filter process among capture points captured by the target capturing section; and a crash predicting section for implementing the filter process, estimating the speed and the travel direction of the target, and predicting the crash based on the filter initial value set by the filter initial value setting section. The filter initial value setting section sets the filter initial value as the capture point captured by the target capturing section when a crash time predicted by the crash predicting section is a predetermined time or less.
