PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple technology by which an oxide film comprising as an essential oxide is formed preferentially to an oxide film comprising α-PbO2 as an essential oxide to suppress the electrolysis voltage, to prevent the fall-off of the coating film, to reduced power cost in the operation, to improve product quality and to form β-PbO2 hardly causing omission and capable of suppressing the increase of the electrolytic voltage on the electrode surface because the oxide film comprising α-PbO2 as a main oxide has problems such as the increase of electrolytic voltage or the deterioration of product quality due to the fall-off of the oxide film to suppress electrolytic voltage.;SOLUTION: The β-PbO2 coating film is formed on the surface of the electrode by arranging an anode of a lead alloy electrode in an acid solution and repeating the energization and the shutoff of current between the anode and a cathode arranged in the solution. Though conventionally the formation of the oxide on the surface of the electrode is carried out with a constant current, the repetition of energization (the passing of current 0 A) and the shutoff of current (the application of voltage 0 V) accelerates the formation of β-PbO2 compared to the formation of oxide under constant current electrolysis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
