PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new diphthaloylpyrene-based compound which is high in photoelectric conversion efficiency and is useful as an electrophotographic photoreceptor and solar battery or photosensor, to provide a method for producing the diphthaloylpyrene-based compound, and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor, a photoelectric conversion element, a solar battery, and a photosensor each using the diphthaloylpyrene-based compound.;SOLUTION: The diphthaloylpyrene-based compound represented by the general formula (1) [X1 and X2 are each identically or differently an alkyl, an alkoxy, an aryl, a halogen atom, nitro, or cyano or two or more thereof may simultaneously be substituted to form a ring structure; R1 to R6 are each H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, an aryl, a halogen, nitro, or cyano; (n) is an integer of 1 to 4].;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
