PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, etc., for calculating the lower end height of a smoke layer, by which calculation is easily performed with high prediction precision with respect to a room of a building provided with smoke exhaustion equipment.;SOLUTION: The method is for calculating the lower end height Z [m] of the smoke layer formed by the smoke of the fire when a fire occurs in the room of the building with provided the smoke exhaustion equipment. The lower end height Z [m] of the smoke layer is calculated through the use of a formula where Af [m2] is the floor area of the room, Hf [m] is the ceiling height of the room, [kW/s2] is the fire growth rate of the fire, s [kg/m3] is the density of the smoke layer, Cm [kg/kJ1/3/m5/3/s2/3] is a smoke generation coefficient concerning the generation of the smoke in the fire, Csm [kg/kJ1/3/m5/3/s2/3] is a smoke exhaustion coefficient concerning the smoke exhaustion from the room by the smoke exhaustion equipment, t [s] is the elapsed time from the fire occurrence, and tsm [s] is the smoke exhaustion start time to be required from the fire occurrence to the smoke exhaustion start.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
