PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clay-based oral administration adsorbent which can effectively adsorb and eliminate a nitrogen-containing compound such as creatinine by oral administration and effectively inhibits elution of aluminum in vivo. PSOLUTION: The oral administration adsorbent is composed of activated clay obtained by acid treatment of dioctahedral smectite-based clay and has a surface weighted average particle diameter, measured by the laser diffraction scattering method, of 10-700 m and a specific surface area in the range of 100-400 mSP2/SP/g.
