PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide monodispersed polymer particles with reduced discoloration, having high light diffusibility. PSOLUTION: The method for producing a monodispersed polymer particles comprises mixing an emulsion obtained by absorbing a vinyl monomer containing a polymerization initiator to seed particles in an aqueous medium with zirconia sol having pH of 8 or more, and heating the resulting mixture to polymerize the vinyl monomer, thereby obtaining the monodispersed polymer particles.
