PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous hot-dip metal coating method for enhancing productivity and reducing the maintenance cost of equipment by suppressing the occurrence of defective quality such as abrasion damage attributable to an in-bath straightening roll and reducing the replacement frequency of bath equipment.;SOLUTION: A metal strip is subjected to hot-dip metal coating using a continuous hot-dip metal coating line which comprises: a gas wiping nozzle for adjusting coating thickness; a non-contact control device for controlling the shape and position of the metal strip at a gas wiping nozzle part in a non-contact manner; and the in-bath straightening roll for straightening the shape of the metal strip at the gas wiping nozzle part in a hot-dip metal coating bath. At that time, for the metal strip of which the shape and position at the gas wiping nozzle part can be controlled by the non-contact control device alone, the shape and position of the metal strip is controlled by the non-contact control device alone in a non-contact manner so that the in-bath straightening roll is not brought into contact with the metal strip, whereas for the metal strip of which the shape and position can not be controlled by the non-contact control device alone, the shape and position of the metal strip is controlled by the in-bath straightening roll alone or by jointly using the in-bath straightening roll and the non-contact control device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
