The gas molecule detection element according to the present invention is a gas molecule detection element in which a detection unit coupled to a gas molecule to be detected is fixed between a pair of metal electrodes via a connection unit. The detection part is a single porphyrin or single porphyrin derivative having iron or cobalt as a central metal, and the connection part is a mercaptophenyleneethynyl group bonded to the single porphyrin or single porphyrin derivative. A gas molecule detection element, a gas molecule detection device, and a gas molecule detection method capable of highly sensitive detection of gas molecules are provided.
