PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve provision of technology that automatically calculates general intelligibility about an input keyword as a numerical value.;SOLUTION: An intelligibility calculating device comprises: dictionary data storage means for storing a keyword extracted from external data, with respect to each external data type; knowledge data storage means for storing appearance frequencies by keyword and external data type, as knowledge data; generality calculation means for using an input keyword to retrieve dictionary data, acquiring a keyword corresponding to the input keyword from the dictionary data, using the acquired keyword to retrieve the knowledge data, acquiring appearance frequencies of the keyword according to external data type, and calculating generality of the input keyword for each external data type from the appearance frequencies and a specified coefficient that is predetermined for each external data type; and intelligibility calculation means for calculating intelligibility about the input keyword by applying a specified calculation to the generality for each external data type.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
