PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for reproducing content after receiving a video stream. PSOLUTION: A content receiver 105a comprises: a program identification information acquisition section 13 for acquiring program identification information for identifying each content from the received stream; a PID information acquisition section 14 for acquiring a PID for identifying a packet for transmitting video or sound included in the stream from the acquired program identification information; and a PID information transmission section 17 for transmitting the acquired PID to a content reproducing unit 103a. Hence, the content reproducing unit for receiving a PID from the content receiver 105a can decode the stream using the received PID, thus reducing the time required for reproducing the content after receiving the stream.
