PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic bistable element that has a simple structure, can be manufactured without increasing the number of manufacturing processes, and is low in switching voltage; and to provide an organic bistable memory using the element and methods of driving the element and memory. PSOLUTION: The organic bistable element has a laminated structure in which a laminate is provided between first and second electrodes.
