PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote desktop system which acquires more comfortable operability by selecting a remote desktop system according to a communication environment, and also to provide a client apparatus, a server, a method for selecting a communication system, a program, and a recording medium.;SOLUTION: In a remote desktop system where a server and a client apparatus are connected over a network, the client apparatus is provided with: a delay value measuring means for measuring a transmission delay value when data is transmitted to the server; and a system decision means for selecting the communication system with the server, based on whether the delay value satisfies a predetermined threshold, wherein the delay value measuring means measures the delay value at a timing for trying connection with the server from the client apparatus, and selection of the communication system is carried out in such a manner that a first system is selected when the delay value is not less than the threshold, and a second system is selected when the delay value is less than the threshold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
