An α-olefin (co) polymer synthesized using a metallocene catalyst and satisfying the following (a ′) and (b ′), a hydride of the polymer, and a polymer thereof: Provided is a high viscosity lubricating oil having excellent viscosity characteristics and low temperature characteristics. (A ′) The ratio of the polymerization end of 2,1 insertion measured by 1H-NMR is 30 mol% or more of all molecules. (B ') Mesotriad fraction (mm) measured by 13C-NMR is 50 mol% or less.
