PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail transmitting/receiving apparatus that reliably determines whether a piece of divided mail in a mail server contains all partial mail elements, on receipt of the email, and deletes the divided mail determined to be incomplete from the mail server.;SOLUTION: When a mail receiving application 25 receives a piece of mail from the mail server, if a unit 251 for determination of divided mail determines that the email stored in the mail server is the divided mail and the mail server stores not all of the partial mail elements of the divided mail, a unit 252 for determination of deletion of divided mail suspends until first predetermined time elapses after the divided mail is transmitted, and checks again, when the first predetermined time elapses, whether all the partial mail elements of the divided mail are stored in the mail server.
