PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantitative evaluation method of a color filter capable of the quantitative evaluation on a recovery of color by the color filter.;SOLUTION: At the quantitative evaluation method for the color filter 10 according to the property which the filter recovers color, using color appearance numerical model, a recognition characteristic value of a color sample 20 is calculated by an observation simulation for each sample, wherein one case of passing the filter 10 and the other case of not using the filter 10. The recognition characteristic value corresponds to a visual recognition of the sample by an observer 40. The difference between the value of the case passing the filter and the value of the case without filter constructs the result of the filter evaluation. This method can make a ranking quantitatively of a plurality of the color filters. The ranking thus obtained coincides the filter evaluation by the human observation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
