PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a line segment that does not affect a contrast ratio even if morphology processing is used in an image processing method that extracts a line segment element from a picked-up image of a gray scale.;SOLUTION: Morphology processing (44) for line segment element detection which accompanies operator's scanning is executed to a picked-up image, and an extraction object area selection processing (46) extracts even a part which continues from a part having a high contrast ratio in the growing direction of a line segment and has a low contrast ratio as one line segment.
