PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article lending/returning system, a method and a program for lending and returning an article even in a time zone when the depository of the article is not open, and sufficiently reducing expenses required for the lending and return.;SOLUTION: A user who borrows an article performs access from a user terminal 15 to a disclosing means 12b on which the content of a database 12a is reflected, and receives the content by a lending means 13. In this case, the user is confirmed by the control of an article management device 12, and a lending box is unlocked by an unlocking means 13a. The article can be input to an input port 13a of the return box so as to be returned.
