PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an emulsion-type adhesive composition having high nonvolatile content of emulsion and excellent standing stability, adhesiveness (especially to polyolefins) and retention (especially at high temperature and under hot humid condition) of emulsion.;SOLUTION: The emulsion-type adhesive composition is produced by emulsifying (C) an oil-soluble component containing (A) an ethylenic unsaturated monomer composed mainly of (a1) a (meth)acrylic acid ester and (B) a tackifier resin in an aqueous medium using an emulsifier and polymerizing (D) the obtained emulsified liquid in the presence of a polymerization initiator.
