A power converter includes a dc input having first and second terminals. A main converter is coupled to the first terminal of the dc input. A standby converter is coupled to the first and second terminals of the dc input to control a transfer of energy from the dc input to a standby output of the standby converter during the standby operating condition of the power converter.
