A wire bobbin binding device includes a binding head having first and second coaxially aligned rotatably mounted chucks for engaging opposite sides of an empty bobbin for motor-driven rotation about a bobbin axis while a wire is wound upon the bobbin. A ring creeping clip is mounted on the binding head and moveable between an advanced position and a retracted position to selectively engage the wire and bind the terminal end of the wire.
