A method and apparatus for producing clean electrical energy, and liquid hydrocarbons, as well as various types of useable by-products from biomass, waste products and oil sand. Uniquely, the apparatus includes a plurality of inclined pyrolysis units arranged in tandem that are heated by the combination of an infra-red system and by heat produced by the pyrolysis units.
