A glucose compound represented by Formula (I):; wherein, R¹¹ and R¹² each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein one CH₂ group or two or more non-adjacent CH₂ groups in the alkyl and alkenyl groups may be replaced by O; L¹ represents —OCO—*, —OCH₂—* (binding to B at the * side), or a single bond; A and B each independently represent a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group which may be substituted or a 1,4-phenylene group which may be substituted; and R¹³ and R¹⁴ each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an acyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and a cellulose composition, a cellulose film, an optical film, a polarizing plate, a liquid crystal display device, and a retardation-increasing agent which have the glucose compound.
