TECHNIQUES TO ACCELERATE RETRANSMISSION OF BLOCKS BY USING TEMPORAL RELATIONS IN WIRELESS NETWORKS. The present invention relates to an embodiment of the present invention which provides a method comprising relaying automatic repeat request blocks (ARQ) from a subscriber station (SS) to a base station (BS) without waiting by a timer expiration and without relying on an explicit BS NACK. One embodiment of the present invention may further comprise performing the relaying of the ARQ blocks by performing ARQ acknowledgment status updates on SS and BS affecting the other side at the PHY frame boundary, maintaining the block transmission ratio for a PHY frame number in the SS, and positively deducing the result of a transmission on the sender by exploring the temporal relationship between the blocks transmitted in the same PHY frame.
