METHOD OF MODELING A PRODUCTION SYSTEM, COMPUTER-READABLE MEANS WITH A RESIDENT COMPUTER-LEGIBLE INSTRUCTION SET, AND COMPUTER DEVICE. Embodiments of the present invention include a method that includes the creation of a deterministic model representing a production system. The model may include one or more data inputs and parameters that are not deterministically known, and one or more data outputs. The prior probabilistic density function can be used to determine the level of prior uncertainty, and a measure related to the first of the outputs can be obtained. The method may also include determining a later probabilistic density function using the prior probabilistic density function, the measure, and a conditional probabilistic density function. Embodiments of the present invention also include a computer readable medium provided with a resident computer readable instruction set which, when performed, perform acts comprising the aforementioned method. Embodiments of the present invention further include a computing device including a memory, one or more processors operably coupled to the memory and processor operable functionality for performing the aforementioned method.
