Optical luminescent sodium-aluminiumsilicate glass doped with Cu+ and Cu2+ ions and intended for photonics

In the present invention, there is described optical luminescent sodium-aluminiumsilicate glass doped with Cue+ and Cue2+ ions containing: 60 to 80 percent by mole SiOi2; 10 to 20 percent by mole Nai2O; 0.5 to 10 percent by mole Ali2Oi3, preferably 0.1 to 15 percent by mole ZnO; 0 to 20 percent by mole MO, wherein MO represents at least one of bivalent metal oxides being selected from the group consisting of MgO, CaO, ZnO, preferably 0.1 to 15 mole percent of MgO, and/or 0.1 to 15 mole percent of CaO, 0 to 10 mole percent of Bi2Oi3, preferably 0.1 to 10 mole percent of Bi2Oi3. The sum of SiOi2 + Nai2O + Ali2Oi3 oxides = 70.5 to 95 mole percent. The sum of Ali2Oi3 and/or Bi2Oi3 = 0.5 to 20 % percent by mole. The glass further contains 0.001 to 5.0 percent by mole, preferably 0.01 to 2.0 percent by mole of Cui2O and/or CuO. The optical luminescent sodium-aluminiumsilicate glass doped with Cue+ and Cue2+ ions of the present invention exhibits absorption in UV and/or in VIS and/or in infrared spectrum of wavelength and at the same time photoluminescence in VIS and/or infrared spectrum of wavelength, coefficient of refraction in the range of 1.49 to 1.56, and an average optical alkalinity in the range of 0.40 to 0.65.
