The new method of controlling thereof according to the present invention is characterized in that in case of occurrence of a ground fault (6) the total compensation current (Ii0) is generated as a vector sum of the individual (n) compensation currents (Ii01, Ii02, Ii03) of all the controlled power supply units (3, 3', 3''), whereby the current amplitudes thereof show in absolute value a deviation of at the most 25 percent from the value Ii0/n, and angles (phii1, phii2, phii3) of their phase shift show a difference in the value of at the most by 30 percent if compared with the angle (phii0) of the phase shift of the total compensation current (Ii0).
