Disclosed is a cradle base for rocking an infant into sleep, said cradle base in the orientation intended for use comprises: a number of transverse rocker arms, said number of transverse rocker arms being at least 2; a number of longitudinal support rods, said number of longitudinal support rods being at least 2; wherein each transverse rocker arm comprising a lower surface facing the ground and being curved in a transverse direction; an opposite upper surface; a front side; and a rear side; wherein each transverse rocker arm comprising a number of penetrating holes for accommodating said longitudinal support rods; eaeh said hole penetrating between the front side and the rear side of said each transverse rocker arm: The cradle base is characterized in that each transverse rocker arm being detachable attached to each longitudinal support rod at a position corresponding to a position of a penetrating hole of said transverse rocker arm by accommodating each said longitudinal support rod in a penetrating hole; and in that said cradle base being adapted to carry an infant in a carrycot or a footmuff in an orientation allowing the infant to be rocked from side to side in a transverse direction. Also disclosed is a cradle base assembly comprising such a cradle base being in its disassembled state; as well as a set comprising such a cradle base or cradle base assembly combined with a carrycot or a footmuff.
