Surfaces can be smoothed within the geological environment model of a geological survey volume. In particular, smoothing can be performed on a special surface by smoothing or otherwise, by changing the slope value without changing the position of the surface of the geological environment model. Slope values can determine specific surface behavior, such as the reflection and refraction of seismic energy propagating within the geological environment model.
