A MICROBIOLOGICAL METHOD USING MARINE WATER FOR THE PRODUCTION OF NEUROSPORENE FROM A MARINE BACTERIUM RHODOVULUM SP. JA756T AND COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAID PIGMENT AND PROCESS FOR MAKING THE SAME
The present invention discloses the process of extraction, purification and characterization of neurosporene from a novel marine purple non-sulfur bacterium Rhodovulum sp. JA756T belonging to the genus Rhodovulutn. Also disclosed a novel medium with marine water using a mineral medium comprising Sodium pyruvate as carbon source, Ammonium chloride as nitrogen source, 0.1% of MgS04 and Yeast extract in proportion defined in the specification to generate biomass containing, higher carotenogenesis in particular with neurosporene using Rhodovulum sp. JA756T. According to the present process neurosporene can be produced with high purity in an industrial scale. A process for preparation of pharmacologically and biologically active compositions containing, neurosporene and their usage in pharmaceuticals, neutraceuticals, and animal feed additives, as well as colorants in cosmetics and in foods.
