zinc and lead are present concurrently in the ores and waste zn - pb.a new hydrometallurgical process for non polluting and recover selectively leached zinc (zn) from a mineral composite material containing zinc sulfide and lead (pb), a crushed rock and mineral particles in untreated or loosewaste treatment and / or waste containing zinc sulfide material, whether or not without a merger and refining has been developed. this technology can be used either in situ or ex situ, on the basis of the susceptibility of a particular type of mineral deposit and ore in open hearth furnaces.a process and composition of leaching agent are used for selective leaching of zinc from ores containing mixtures of zinc sulfide.the process involves contacting the ore with a mixture or an aqueous leaching agent comprising: 1) an oxidizing agent selected to oxidize sulphur in elemental sulfur; and (2) an alkali metal hydroxide in an amount sufficient to form a soluble alkali metal zincate, prolong the time of contact between the solid and the leaching agentin order to obtain the desired recovery of zinc and the selectivity in the leachate, which, while ensuring that the concentrations of reactants are operational; to separate the desired residual solids leachate; and recovering the zinc from the leachate.
