The present invention refers to a unit for increasing the photoperiod in the reproduction and metamorphosis of the Rana catesbeiana, the system including three main parts: the first is a data processing system intended to control the start-up time and the intensity of the light; the second is a lamp arrangement configured to emit day-type light and the third part being a power regulating unit intended to control the power supplied to the lamps for obtaining day-type light required for increasing the photoperiod. The use of the system enables the reproduction of the Rana to be carried out during the whole year, which is practically impossible under natural conditions.
