The invention relates to a method and device for reducing pressure and flow rate pulsations in volumetric machines operating at constant speed, caused by the pulsatory discharge of the flow rate of volumetric machines: piston compressor, rotary lobe blower, stable internal combustion engine, the device carrying out the continuous delivery of the discharged gas and noise reduction. According to the invention, the method consists in reducing the pressure and flow rate pulsations, said pulsations occurring when the fluid compressed by volumetric machines flows through pipes, said machines operating at constant speed, said method also consists in reducing, to half of their value, the overpressure or underpressure values of the momentary wave arrived at the place at which the pressure-processing device is placed, by diverting the flow from the main path of propagation towards a parallel direction, along which the deflected wave propagates keeping its value and sign, returning at a certain moment and place into the main path of the modified wave in order to be cancelled by the combination with the value of contrary sign thereof, corresponding to said place, but delayed behind by wave half-period. According to the invention, the device consists in cutting a slit into the pipe wherein the flow propagates, which achieves the reduction of overpressure or underpressure momentary waves arrived in said place to half of their values, by diverting the flow from the main path of propagation towards a collateral direction along which the deflected wave propagates by keeping its value and sign, returning at a certain moment and place into the main path of the modified wave, in order to be cancelled by the combination with the value of contrary sign thereof, corresponding to said place, but delayed behind by wave half-period.
