The invention relates to an equipment and a process intended for processing the aqueous solutions for medical use, employed in the treatment of severe intra-abdominal infections which do not respond to classic pharmaceutical treatment. According to the invention, the equipment comprises a sterile reservoir () containing aqueous solutions for processing, an enclosure () wherein there are a transformer () and a high voltage reversible rectifier (), the aqueous solution being processed within a sterile enclosure () accommodating a container with the solution () to be processed, wherein oxygen is introduced from a cylinder, by means of a conduit () provided with a valve () and of another conduit () provided with another valve (), the processing of the said solution () being achieved by Corona discharge between a high voltage electrode () placed above the solution () to be processed, through the oxygen and the aqueous solution, to a plate electrode () connected to the ground by means of a cable (), where, between the electrode () and the solution () there is an interstice (), adjustable by some screws (), while between the solution () and the two electrodes () there are two dielectric barriers (). The process claimed by the invention consists in feeding oxygen and aqueous solution to a sterile enclosure (), the ozonation process being achieved by applying the Corona discharge through the oxygen located above the aqueous solution and through the aqueous solution itself, in oder to obtain the desired concentrations of ozone and free radicals.
