The invention relates to a process for obtaining magnetite used as carrier in medicinal compositions. According to the invention, the process consists in co-precipitating ferric and ferrous ions in an aqueous polysaccharide solution of dextran and dextrin type, at a temperature of 90°C and a pH 11, the resulting suspension is incubated for 1 h at a temperature of 90°C, after that the separated particles are dispersed in distilled water, wherefrom there results a stable dispersion of magnetite particles.
