The invention relates to a process for preparing biodegradable composites of a matrix based on protein material and textile reinforcing fabric made of natural bast fibres, to be used in the textile industry. According to the invention, the process starts with the preparation of the biodegradable matrix from 100 parts of bone glue-based protein material, 10 parts of glycerine as a plasticizer, 4 parts of acetone-formaldehyde resin and 150 parts of water, the mixture being heated on a water bath up to a temperature of 60...65°C, at the most, after which the textile reinforcement is prepared by overlapping four reinforcing layers made of 100% flax, of warp yarns Nm 5/2 and weft yarns Nm 5, with a warp set of 72 yarns/10 cm and a weft set of 62 yarns/10 cm, so as to alternate the woven fabric arrangement along the warp direction with the weft direction, between each of the said reinforcing layers there being introduced a layer of the initially prepared protein material matrix.
