Biogas is acquired from waste organic matter leaving the biogas station. The solid particles in the organic mater are mechanically disintegrated to smaller particles and the organic mater is warmed up and additionally fermented in the container from which the biogas is withdrawn. The disintegration and warming up decrease viscosity of the organic matter and in advantageous arrangement the waste heat of combined heat and power unit (10) is utilised. The method and system involves also electro kinetic decomposition in a high voltage field and if appropriate ultrasound operating. The additional fermentation can be realised in a terminal waste container or in a separate container with gas withdrawal (4). The organic matter is warmed-up to from 16 to 80 �C, advantageously to the temperature 50 to 60 �C., especially to the temperature 55 �C. The additional fermentation can be guided in presence of a catalyst containing tribasic alcohol. The disintegrated organic matter can be used in the original fermenter (1) as the substitution of dung water or other dilution liquid.
