The invention relates to devices for removal of solids (mechanical impurities) from liquid and can be used in engineering, chemical, mining, metallurgical, oil refining and other branches of industry, as well as in water supply utilities. A hydrodynamic direct-flow filter with a slime separator comprises a housing with inlet and outlet pipes, in which there are coaxially located: a filter element, a cowling, a swirler and a slime trap. In the case the slime trap is located at the end of the filter element after the swirler and is made in the form of a closed loop connected to a flow tube penetrating into the slime separator. The invention provides for reduction of hydraulic resistance, reduction of the volume of liquid draining, improvement of the cleaning efficiency and simplification of the design.
