The invention relates to the method for production of alcohol of the second generation from lignocellulosic substrate, where controlled amount of furfural is producedand which contains at least the following stages: the stage of preliminary chemical alkali substrate processing, the stage of pH control of preliminary processed substrate, the stage of enzymatic hydrolysis of the mentioned preliminary processed substrate, the stage of alcohol fermentation of hydrolyzate produced by alchol-producing microorganism, the stage of separation/purification, and the stage of acid transformation of at least one liquid fraction into furfural, wherein the mentioned liquid phase is produced at one of the preliminary stages, the stage of mixing of produced furfural with preliminary processed substrate at the stage of pH control.
