A method for diagnosis of breast tumors by means of ultrasound. Preliminary the sensitivity of ultrasound is estimated in individual patients based on the ratio of fat and glandular tissue, which is determined sonographically, to this ratio Category I, II, III, IV is assigned, on the basis of which the risk of false negative results is predicted respectively as 3%, 20%, 50% and 70% and sensitivity is estimated as 97%, 80%, 50% and 30%, respectively.
