METHOD FOR ASSESSING TREATMENT EFFICACY IN CHILDREN WITH CONGENITAL OBSTRUCTIVE MEGAURETER

The method for assessing treatment efficacy in the children with congenital obstructive megaureter comprises the assay of the activity of the tubular enzyme -galactosidase in the urine produced by the physiological urination. The content of proinflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor alpha is assayed prior to reconstructive surgery and one year later. When the -galactosidase activity and content of tumor necrosis factor alpha decrease following one year after restoration of urodynamics, the treatment is assessed as effective. When the decrease is insignificant or even increase of the above-mentioned parameters is observed, the treatment is assessed as ineffective.
