A method for producing biomass as a feedstock for biofuels, based on the use of green algae Scenedesmus comprises preparing inoculum producers of the serial cultivation of seeds on agar medium with organic additives, making it in liquid mineral medium for adapting the suspension and growing under conditions of intensive cultivation on aforementioned environment with optimal (200 mg/l) concentration of nitrate nitrogen. As a producer new type of cultivated algae Desmodesmus magnus (Meyen) P. Tsarenko is used, similar in performance to the species of the genus Scenedesmus, but resistant to parasites of algae, with high concentrations of nitrate and ability to accumulate nitrite (which are precursors of carcinogens) in the environment with order of magnitude (10 times) smaller than the genus Scenedesmus and Acutodesmus.
