METHOD FOR LAPAROSCOPIC PLASTIC REPAIR OF UMBILICAL HERNIA

The method for laparoscopic plastic repair of the umbilical hernia comprises laparoscopy. Two trocars are inserted in the left iliac area. Following laparoscopy, the umbilical ring is sutured with V-Loc (Covidien) 3-0 involving the dermal layer of the umbilical skin. The synthetic mesh is inserted into abdominal cavity and fixed at four points with transcutaneous interrupted sutures with Vicryl. The mesh is fixed around the perimeter to the anterior abdominal wall. Following hemostasis, the wound is sutured layer-by-layer.
