METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING SEVERITY OF ONYCHOMYCOSIS

A method for diagnosing the severity of onychomycosis comprises the dermatoscopy of the nails. The following clinical features are examined as being diagnostic of the severity of onychomycosis: irregular striation of the nail surface, alteration of the free edge of the nail, hyperkeratosis, irregular coloration of the nail, streaks between the nail plate and the nail bed, onycholysis of the nail. Each clinical feature is scored in points. The sum of the points is indicative of the severity of onychomycosis.
