A method for preventing the hypertensive crises in the hypertension patients comprises the use of hypotensive drugs. The parameters of the variability of heart rhythm are assayed for assessing whether sympathetic or parasympathetic vegetative nervous system dominates. When sympathetic nervous system dominates, beta-adrenoblocker is used. When parasympathetic nervous system dominates, calcium antagonist is provided.
