CENTRIFUGAL TESTBENCH FOR BENDING-UNDER-TENSION TEST OF SAMPLES OF BRITTLE ROCKS AND OTHER FRIABLE MATERIALS

A centrifugal test bench for determination of ultimate bending tension strength of samples of brittle rocks and other friable materials comprises a body with inner cavity closed with the upper and the lower covers and suitable for evacuation, a rotor placed in the cavity, a drive installed on the upper cover. The drive has a bearing shaft for rotation of the rotor that carries the samples under investigation loaded with centrifugal forces. The test bench comprises such systems: vacuum one, system for lubrication of bearings and toothed gearings, systems for control of the rotor motion, for signaling and registration of parameters of the rotor motion with samples at destruction of samples, for damping rotor vibrations and restriction of amplitude of those. To increase productivity of investigations a carousel-type rotor is used, with several and more cassettes placed in circle with constant radius for arrangement of samples under load.
