Methods are described to reduce the risk of mortality and morbidity associated with thrombocytopenia and to reduce the risk of thrombocytopenia in patients whose Treatment requires inhibition of platelet aggregation. The Methods involve the Administration of a pharmaceutically acceptable Salt of tirofiban.
