A control method for an air condenser of an electric power generation plant, provides detection of a control quantity (P A ) indicative of conditions of a steam flow supplied to the condenser (8), and the selection of a state (S K , S K ') of the condenser from among a plurality of available states (S 1 , ..., S P ), on the basis of the detected control quantity (P A ) and of a reference value (P R ). A first condition (C 1 ), a second condition (C 2 ), and a third condition (C 3 ) are verified, concerning respectively the control quantity (P A ), to a an integral of the control quantity (P A ) and to a derivative of the control quantity (P A ), in relation to the reference value (P R ). State changes of the selected state (S K , S K ') are decided on the basis of the first condition (C 1 ), the second condition (C 2 ) and on the third condition (C 3 ).
