Said limiter is characterized by having two stages, inductive and resistive and use the inductive part also to produce the transition from the resistive part by magnetic field, which is a significant improvement because it avoids the traditional transition current of this element produced by form inhomogeneous, causing large local dissipations which degrade or burn the superconductor. Homogeneity in the transition facilitates modular design limiters greater capacity, since the adjustment of the transition of each module is less critical. The resistive part must be housed in the air gap of a normally ferromagnetic circuit, which can take different forms depending on the geometry of the resistive element.
